playing with food

This was probably my favorite activity at Food Camp.  Our friends at Earth Fare and Veribest Farm were kind enough to donate some beautiful organic produce so that made us able to do this project.  THANK YOU!!!!  We nibbled all project long!

food camp ART MAKING!

While food camp was mostly about food… we couldn’t help but do some fun art making too.  One day we did some made potato printed place mats and learned about pattern making and fabric printing.  We also made some grocery bags to use the next time we were at the market.  LOOK and see what we made!

FOOD CAMP COVERAGE: day 2

Tuesday we had a very special guest:  Alfredo Moreno of Alfredo’s Bread.  You may recognize him from the Athens Farmers Market.   We invited him to come and talk a little bit about bread and show us how to make it from scratch.  All of the kids were super helpful and excited to learn about the process.  And we even got to bake our own loaves:  French and Whole Wheat.  Thanks Alfredo, the kids had a blast!
